Green Innovation | Atomized Water Washing Makes Denim More Energy-Efficient
U.S. magazine Time reported that in 2007, a certain American denim brand conducted an assessment of the resources required to produce one of its jeans—and uncovered a startling finding: jeans are virtually made of water. From the cotton fields to the fabric and finally to the washing machine, a single pair of jeans consumes as much as 3,480 liters of water over its lifetime. If we assume an adult drinks two liters of water per day, that amount of water is enough to meet nearly five years’ worth of an individual’s daily hydration needs.

In recent years, the pollution issues associated with denim processing have drawn widespread public attention, placing the denim industry under severe scrutiny. Denim garment dyeing and finishing consumes large volumes of water and generates substantial wastewater, with effluents characterized by high pollutant concentrations. In line with today’s environmental protection trends, production practices that come at the expense of the environment are gradually being phased out, prompting major denim manufacturers to adopt new technologies, equipment, and auxiliaries in pursuit of a green transformation.

Advanced production technologies are at the heart of the broader green‑jeans movement in the new era, necessitating the phasing out of certain high‑energy‑consumption equipment and the adoption of cutting‑edge machinery.

New washing process—atomized washing
By atomizing the detergent with a single cup of water, 60% to 70% of the washing process can be completed, saving up to 40% of water compared to conventional methods. If the entire washing process is carried out within the machine, at least 50% to 60% of water can be saved.
Atomizing washing machine. This equipment is designed with an eco-friendly concept and offers advantages such as time savings, energy efficiency, labor reduction, and material conservation, thereby achieving the dual objectives of energy and resource conservation and reduced production costs.
The spray‑atomization system replaces the conventional soaking process, significantly reducing water consumption. At the same time, this spray‑atomization method ensures uniform application of the chemical solution onto the denim surface, minimizing damage to the fibers. By integrating the traditional “desizing” and “bio‑finishing” steps into a single operation, the spray‑atomization system effectively saves time, water, electricity, and steam.

SEBORN Charity – Turning Deserts into Oases
Today, land desertification remains a major environmental issue in China. In Gansu Province, there is a region whose severe environmental challenges have drawn the attention of Western Brown. Minqin County in Gansu is surrounded on three sides by the Badain Jaran Desert and the Tengger Desert, effectively preventing these two vast deserts from merging.
