Biodegradable, eco-friendly denim (PLA fiber)

Made from natural plant-based materials, biodegradable, eco-friendly and durable, offering a healthy and comfortable wearing experience.

About biodegradable, eco-friendly denim: crafted from the more environmentally friendly polylactic acid fiber (PLA), it supports a green, circular economy by enabling the sustainable reuse of resources. It enhances denim’s natural strength, giving the fabric a more organic, earth‑friendly feel.

About Polylactic Acid Fiber

Polylactic acid fiber, abbreviated as PLA fiber, is produced by first obtaining high-purity lactic acid—derived from agricultural crops or crop residues—through biofermentation. This lactic acid is then subjected to polymerization to yield the polymeric material polylactic acid, which is subsequently processed into PLA fiber via melt-spinning and other manufacturing techniques.

Feature EFFECT

Sourced from nature · Eco-friendly

From raw materials to production and all the way to disposal, everything is environmentally friendly.

Abundant sources

Derived from crop extracts, it serves as a substitute for natural cellulose fibers traditionally sourced from petroleum-based chemical fibers.

Good performance

It boasts excellent moisture-wicking and sweat‑evaporating properties, superior UV resistance, and low flammability.

Environmentally friendly

It can be buried in the soil, where it is directly absorbed by soil organic matter or plants, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. It is a widely recognized environmentally friendly material.

Advantage

Derived from corn extract, it uniquely “lowers” heart health.

Lactic acid is produced through the fermentation of biomass-derived starch, which is then polymerized to form polylactic acid. After use, microorganisms, water, acids, and alkalis in the natural environment hydrolyze it back into lactic acid, which subsequently breaks down into carbon dioxide and water. Subsequently, through plant photosynthesis, starch is regenerated and can once again serve as a feedstock for lactic acid fermentation.
